Bee co, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Beeco, on Friday, March 10 at 5 p. m. They were married In Clayton, Ga., with Frank God frey, Justice of the Peace, offi ciating. Accompanying the cou ple to Clayton was the groom's sister. Miss Mildred Beeco. The bride was attired In a gray suit and her corsage was of yellow roses. Mr. and Mrs. Beeco will make their home in Knoxvllle, Tenn., where Mr. Beeco is employed. On Saturday evening follow ing the wedding, the bride's mother gave an announcement party in honor of the bride and groom. OFFERS PRIZE TO H. S. STUDENTS At their meeting on Monday afternoon at Mrs A. B. Slagle's, the United Daughters of the Confederacy voted to offer a prize to the Franklin high school students for the best essay on a subject of historical interest. Mrs. Thomas J. John ston was appointed chairman to arrange with the school fa culty for the contest. The prize will be presented at the close of school. This revives the cus tom of the Macon county chap ter which has lapsed for sever al years. Mrs. J. Ward Long appointed the following committees to serve through the year. Finance committee, Mrs. Les ter Conley, chairman, Mrs. W. M. Parrlsh, Miss Nora Leach and Mrs. Carl S. Slagle; creden tial committee. Mrs. Lon Camp bell, Mrs. A. B. Slagle, Mrs. J. W. C. Johnson and Mrs. George M. Slagle; sick or visiting com mittee, Mrs. T. J. Johnston, Mrs. Zeb W. Conley and Miss Lilly Rankin; year book committee, Mrs. J. W. Long, Miss Lilly Ran kin and Mrs. T. J. Johnston. The hour of the monthly meetings were changed from 3 o'clock until 3; 30 o'clock. The treasurer, Mrs. W. M. Parrlsh, reported that all Con federacy obligations had been met by the chapter for this year. The chapter voted to make Mrs. 8am L. Rogers, who is a charter member, 'an honorary member. The April meeting Is schedul ed to be held with Mrs. Zeb W. Conley. The hostess, assisted by her daughter, Miss Elizabeth Slagle, served refreshments at the con clusion of the meeting.
