Henry, of Franklin, and of the late Mr Henry, which was solemnized in a ceremony at 1:30 p. m. June 30. The Rev. J. Stephen Morri s-ett, professor at Gardner-Webb college. Boiling Springs, . and lormer pastor of the bride, of licialed, using the double ring ritual of the Baptist church. He was assisted by the Rev. Howard J. Ford, pastor of the Mi-si Baptist church. Elkin. A prelude of wedding music was presented, and the tradi tional wedding marches were Used. The vows were spoken before the altar, arranged with native greenery and Oregon fern, in terspersed with iloor baskets of white gladioll.The nuptial set ting was softly lighted with tapers in seven-branched can delabra. The bride, given in rrtarriage by her lather, wore a gown of candelight satin fashioned with a scalloped neckline, long sleeves ending in calla lily points over the hands, and fitted scalloped bodice, joined to a full skirt which extended into a train. Her fingertip veil of illusion cascaded from a circlet of orange blossoms and she car ried a bouquet of gardenias and tuberoses, centered with a white purple-throated orchid. Her iftiiy ornament was a heirloom dia mond and pearl lavalicr. Mrs. Robert W. Turner, of Waynesville, was matron of honor and her sister's only at tendant. She wore a rose crepe gown styled with a scalloped neckline with a yoke of lace, bandeau of plaited maline. She carried an old fashioned nose gay of mixed Summer flowers Frank L. Henry, Jr., of Frank lin, acted as best man lur nia cousin. Ushers were Dr. Fran*. H. Walker, of YadKi.iviiie, brotn er of the bride, and Dr. Rob a tinea o.xuce and a full skirt. Her headdress was a matching ert W. Turner, of Waynesville, brother-in-law of the bride. Immediately following the ceremony, the briae's parents entertained at a reception at the Gilvin Roth Y. M. C. A. In the receiving line were Mr. anu Mrs. Walker, Mrs. John B. Hen ry, the bridal couple and Mrs Robert W. Turner. After the reception the bridt and bridegroom left for a weu ding trip to Northern poults. 1 Mrs. Henry, a graduate o. Elkin High school, attended Flora MacDonald college, Red Springs, and was graduated from Westminster Choir college, Princeton, N. J., where she re ceived a B. M degree in voice this spring. Alter September X, she will assume duties as min ister of music at the First Bap tist church in Franklin. | Mr. Henry attended Brevard college and is a veteran of World II, having served three years in the Marine corps, 16 months of which was spent in the Pacific. He is co-owner of Auto Parts and Equipment com pany, Franklin, Mr. and Mrs. Henry will be at home in Franklin. Among the out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mrs. O. C. BOLTON ENTERTAIN AT BRIDGE Mrs. Thomas H. Fagg and Mrs. Claude Bolton entertained with six tables of bridge at the latter's home on the Murphy road last Friday afternoon. Houk, second high; Mrs. R. R. Gaines, low score; and Mrs. Ernest Hyde, consola tion. TWO CHURCH GROUPS HOLD j ALL-DAY MEET AT MEMORIAL The Woman's Society of Christian Service and the F. S Johnston Bible class of the Franklin Methodist church held a joint all-day meeting at the Slagle Memorial Thursday of last week. Marking the morning program was the devotional, led by Mrs. B. S Philbrick, with Mrs. H. W. Cabe at the piano, and a study of Poland, led by Mrs. Pearl ' Hunter. A business session and social hour were held in the afternoon. Mrs. Zeb Conley, pusident of the W. S. C. S., presided. A covered dish luncheon wasi served at noon. Personal Mention John A.
