Drawing yearly attendance estimated at over 25,000, the Cliffside area boasts an eight acre lake, bath houses, open fireplaces, and shelters. < Potential Draftees May Enlist In Army, Air Force Macon County men who have received pre-induction examina tions at the Charlotte induction station and are awaiting in duction may volunteer for en listment in the U. S. Army or U. S. Air Force through August 31, according to Cpl. Clay Hen sley, local army and air force recruiter. However, the recruiter point ed out, enlistments are now on a quota basis, and enlistees will be placed on a waiting list. For the benefit of women high school graduates, Cpl. Hensley pointed out that enlistment period in the Women's Army corps has been reduced to two years. The recruiter also said army and air force recruiters have been placed on a six-day week Ffc. Guest Awarded Combat Infantryman's Badge On Korean F ront Pfc. George C. Guest, son of Mrs. Nina Guest, of Franklin, Route 4, has been awarded the combat infantryman's badge in Korea while serving with the 5th Cavalry regiment, according to the regiment's information office. The badge, awarded only to front-line combat infantrymen, distinguishes the actual fight ing men from rear area and service troops in a combat zone. The badge consists of a minia ture replica of a Revolutionary work schedule and announced that he would be on duty in Franklin Tuesday and Saturday of each week at Angel's Drug store, instead of just Tuesday as in the past. Mrs. Martin Jones Celebrates 84th Birthday At Picnic Mrs. Martin F. Jones, of Bon ny Crest, was honored on her 34th birthday last Thursday with a picnic at Arrowood glade.
