After lunch we wend ed our way towards Highlands, stopping at the Calico shop, for merly known as "The Dugout". The Highlands museum was where we say many interesting things, such as a round piece of wood sawed clear through showing the rings of growth. It was several years old when Co lumbus discovered America. The tree was felled in 1927. The various minerals under the flu orescent lights looked like mag ic in fairyland. Many other stones were on display as well as Indian relics, antiques, and curios. In the basement were the live' reptiles. We sure were glad that the singing timber rattlesnake was secure in his cage. Reluctantly we left the museum and continued our Journey down by the country club where so many lovely flow ers were blooming, and on down the forest clad mountain road to Dillard, Ga. Again we halted and visited the new produce market. We regretted no one was there to tell us of their plans for the future. Along the Georgia road corn was suffer ing for lack of rain. Having left our cares behind for the day, we will never forget this tour and the courteous people who made It so very woithwhlle.
