B. L. Hedden Now Serving In Korea Pvt. Benjamin L. Hedden, of the Gneiss community, recent ly joined the 1st Cavalry divi sion on the Korean battlefront, according to the Army Home Town News center in Kansas City, Mo. Pvt. Hedden's twin brother, Dewey, also is with the army in Korea, it has been learned here. B. Hedden entered the army last May and was stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., prior to be ing transferred to duty in Ko rea. Two Hikers Reach End Of Appalachian Trail The two hikers who were walking the Appalachian trail from the north to the south, an account of which appeared in the October 11 issue of The Press, reached the end of their journey last week. The Press received a post card from the hikers saying they had reached Mt. Oglethorpe, the end of the 2,028-mile trail. PAsonal Mention Mrs. J. R. Overton has return ed from a week's visit in Char lotte. William Parrish, of Norfolk, Va., visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Parrish, of Otto, over the week-end. Mrs. C. A. Sutton, of Wash ington, Ga., spent the week-end here with her mother, Mrs. S. H. Lyle, Sr. Mrs. C. A. Cabe, who had a stroke of paralysis last week, Is reported to be seriously ill She is a patient at Angel hos pital. Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Collins, of Fayetteville, Tenn., were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Alsup.
