turned from 19-months' duty in
Japan, and is spending a 30-day
leave In Franklin with his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Burn
ette. The third class petty of
ficer entered service in Sep
tember, 1949, and was stationed
in Kodiak, Alaska, for six
months before going to Japan.
He served with Patrol Squadron
6 in Japan and has three battle
stars.

244 mote new Diesel locomotive units at a cost
of over $39 million. We have purchased 2,330
new freight cars costing about $14 million. We are
