Grover Jamison, Sr. AGENT Telephone 320 * State College Answers Timely Farm Questions Q. Doss warfarin kill mice as weil as rats? 1 A. Yes. Warfarin .reduces the | normal clotting ability of the blood and causes the rodents to i die by internal bleeding. It is I equally effective on rats and mice, but takes a little longer baiting period to control mice. The rodents are not killed im mediately. Waria.in must be I eaten by a rat or mouse over a period of days, usually five to 14. No difficulty whatever is en countered in getting rodents to eat warfarin. No pre-baiting is necessary, and no bait shyness develops. For best results, shal low containers should be used. They should be placed in rat runways behind boards leaning against the wall, or near holes and cracks where rats are known to go in and out. Q.
