MISS McCALL BJUDE OF TERRELL TALLENT The marriage of Miss Edith McCall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam R. McCall, of Gneiss, to Terrell Tallent, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tallent, of Franklin, was solemnized April 12 in Walhalla, S. C. The bride wore a navy blue suit with black accessories and her corsage was of white gar denias. Mrs. Tallent is a graduate of Highlands High school and for the past four years has been employed at the Van Raalte plant in Franklin. Mr. Tallent, a veteran of four years service in the U. S. Air force and three years in the army, was educated in the Franklin schools and also is em ployed at Van Raalte. They are living in the McCoy apartments in Franklin. Deal, son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Deal, of Gneiss, spenta 10-day leaye recently with his parents. He has been stationed at Fort Bragg since entering service about a year ago. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Stadig, of Miami Fla., are at their home in the Gneiss community for j several weeks. Jamison Moves Business After 40 Years Service In The Same Location After doing business for 40 years in the same spot, Grover Jamison, Sr. (he and two sons : now operate the business under the firm name of Jamison, Jewelers' last week moved his jewelry business. The new location is the store j in the Macon theatre building I formerly occupied by Martin j Electric company. The one-story building, next j door to the post office, in which i Mr. Jamison has been in busi ness since about 1912, he re called this week, he bought at that time from Col. Howe, who had operated a barber shop there. At some time in the future, Mr. Jamison said, plans call for razing the old building and erecting a new structure. When that is done, the business will be moved back across the street again, to its long-time location. I STATE OFFICERS HERE C. W. Blanchard, director of plant operation for the state board of education, and C. H. Jourdan, heating engineer, spent Tuesday and Wednesday of last i week visiting Macon schools and giving instruction to jan- , itors on the care of heating systems and maintenance of buildings. They were accompanied on their visits by County School Supt. Holland McSwain. Starrette has joined the mechanical staff of The Franklin Press as printer and make-up man. Mr. Starrette, a native of Statesville, comes to Franklin from Lenoir, where he has been connected with the Lenoir News-Topic for the past two years. Prior to that, he did newspaper work in Statesville. He and Mrs. Starrette, who have taken the George Mash burn house on Palmer street, both are active in the Metho dist church. Mr. Starrette is a former Methodist steward, and Mrs. Starrette was serving as spiritual life chairman of the Woman's Society for Christian Service in the Statesville dis trict when they moved to Franklin. Draft Board Seeking Whereabouts Of Two The local selective service board is seeking the where abouts of Grady Weimar San ders and Fred Austin Curtis. Board officials said important mail addressed to the above men has been returned un claimed and they asked anyone knowing the whereabouts of either man to contact the board immediately. Mr. Sanders' last known ad dress was Scaly, and Mr. Cur tis's, Hendersonville. Cullasaja Sam Joe Fulton who has been serving with the marine corps at Corpus Christy, Tex., is vis iting his grandfather, John Ful ton, and his aunt, Mrs. Myrtle Keener. At the end of his leave he will report for duty at Cher ry Point. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Graham, of Naranja, Fla., have arrived to spend the summer at their home here. They were accom panied by their niece, Mrs. Joan Richardson, and children, who returned to Florida Monday. Charlie Wooten is reported to be Improving after an opera tion. Mr. and Mrs. Harve McCon nell have moved back to this community after living in Franklin for the past few years. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hender son and family have moved to Franklin, Route 3.
