Beck have prepared a special ex hibit covering all phases of British literature from 1100 A D to modern times and featuring models of farm implements and dolls dressed in period costume. WOOD Miss Mildred Rebecca Roper, of Samoset, Fla., and Franklin, daughter of Mrs. James W. Roper and the late Mr. Roper, became the bride of Kenneth E. Wood, of Bradenton, Fla., and Elmire, N. Y., in a double ring ceremony Friday night at 8 o'clock at the Trinity Metho dist Church in Bradenton. Dr. A. S. Woodard officiated. Mr. Wood is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wood, of El mira. The church was decorated with palms, baskets of white gladiolus and candelabra hold ing lighted cathedral tapers. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Kenneth Gross, organist and Miss Irene Sanders, of Bradenton, vocalist. The bride was given in mar riage by her cousin, Joseph B. Wilson, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She wore a white summer suit, white panama hat and pink ac cessories and carried a white prayer book topped with pink carnations showered with satin streamers. Her only jewelry was an heirloom string of pearls, a gift of her mother. Mrs. Randall Wilson, of Samo set, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor, and the bride's only attendant. John A. Hamm, of Bradenton, served as best man. Ushers were Asa L. Wooten, Jr., and Murray Keston, of Bradenton.' After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Wood will live in Elmira. The bride is a graduate of Franklin High School and she attended college in Asheville. In Florida she has been, em ployed as bookkeeper by O. E. Smith, tax consultant. She is a member of the Woman's Club and Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Burlington. The groom attended schools in Odessa. N. Y., and served three and a half years in the army. ' PERSONAI -S t li | . Brown Swiss Breed Now Available For Breeding Brown swiss, a good veal calf with excellent milking qualities, is now available through the services of the Macon County Artificial Breeders Association, according to Bill Higdon, asso ciation technician. In addition to the new breed offered, services also include guernsey, holstein, and jersey. Mr. Higdon said the brown swiss is a good rugged animal and farmers who know the breed are well pleased with its qualifications.
