"Standard Sunday School
Day" will be observed Sunday
by the Highlands Baptist
Church, it has been announced.
The Sunday School recently
achieved Standard recognition,
and as part of Sunday's pro
gram will be presented a pen
nant by J. L. Hicks, Sunday
School superintendent.
"What This Standard Sym
bolizes" will be the topic used
by the Rev. John Buell.
Attendance goal for the spe
cial day has been set at 250,

In Korean Fire

Pfc. Watsell Holland, son of
Mrs. Hettle Holland, of Gneiss,
who Is serving In Pusan, Korea,
in a recent letter to his mother
described' how he and fellow
soldiers, rescued women and
children in the disastrous fire
that swept the Korean city.
The Gneiss soldier has two
years in the army and is due
to receive his discharge this
summer. He took basic training
at Camp Picket, Va., with a
medical training division.
