TEEN-AGERS SHOWING INTEREST IN ROAD-E-O' HERE MAY 12 Local teen-agers are showing a great deal of interest in the scheduled "Teen-Age Road-e-o" on May 12, according to John Cogan, project co-chairman. The road-e-o, which Is being sponsored by the Franklin Jay cees, is designed to test the general knowledge and driving skill of teen-agers. Both writ ten and driving tests will be given, the chairman said. The winner of the local event will be sent to Charlotte June 12 to compete In the state con test, he disclosed. w Any teen-ager who has not reached 20 Is eligible to enter. Each contestant must have a driver's license or learner's per mit. Judges will be local law en forcement and safety officials. Elbert Angel, of the Frankl;n Lions Club, assisted by other club members, put on a broom sale. The brooms were made by blind workers of th? state Mr Angel also gave a brief hi'tory of some of the work the Lion? Club has been doing to aid th* blind and nearly blind in til? county. Plans were discussed for r-e curing markers for the unmark ed graves at tho cemetsry. A social hour was held a t:r the business meeting.
