Rogers Dies Friday At His Home Isaac Benjamin Rogers, a na tive of tills county, died Fri day at 7:30 p. m. at his home on Highlands, Buck Creek Route, following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services for Mr. Rog ers, who was 75, were conduct ed Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Buck Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Wiley McCall and the Rev. Oscar Nix. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Rogers was a farmer and a member of the Buck Creek church. He was born June 29, 1878, the son of T. N. and Mrs. Margaret Keener Rogers. In 1904 he was married to Miss Callie Tilson, of this county, who died several years ago. Surviving are two sons, Ker mit Rogers, of Highlands, Buck Creek Route, and Herr Rog ers, of Gastonia; a ^ghter, Mrs. Mary Houston, of High lands, Buck Creek Route; a brother, Dock Rogers, of High lands, Buck Creek Route; two sisters, Mrs. Edd Picklesimer, of Highlands, and Mrs. S. H. Crunkleton, of Franklin; and 11 grandchildren. Nephews serving as pallbear ers were Lyman Picklesimer, Turly Picklesimer, Hayes Rog ers, Abby Rogers, Elden Rogers, and Ralph Crunkleton. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryant Funeral Home. TO CLEAN CEMETERY Gillespie Chapel Cemetery will be cleaned May 29. The women are asked to bring a picnic lunch. MANN SUCCUMBS IN GREENSBORO Was Native Of Macon; Services Held May 16 At Greensboro Church William Arthur Mann, 73, a native of Macon and resident of Greensboro for the past 50 years, died at his home in Greensboro May 13, it has been learned here. Mr. Mann was associated with a number of grocery firms in Greensboro and at one time was in business for himself. In 1932 he became manager of the storeroom department for Wom an's College and was holding this position at the time of his death. Funeral services were con ducted May 16 at the Collage Place Methodist Church, of which he was a charter mem ber. Burial was In Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. Mann was a member of the board of trustees and the board of stewards of his church and at one time served as church treasurer and superin tendent of the Sunday School. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Annie K. Stra der; two sons, Clarence Mann, of Winston-Salem, and Harry Mann, of Gastonia; a daughter, Mrs. Stewart Rogers, of Greens boro; two brothers, John Mann, j of Clarksburg, W. Va., and the Rev. M. W. Mann, of Collins ville, Va.; five sisters, Mrs. Cas i sie Dunn, of High Point, Mrs. Ella Moore, of Florence, S. C., I and Mrs. J. A. Parrish, Mrs. A. E. Hilliard, and Mrs. L. B. Wade, j all of Greensboro; and five grandchildren. Loans will be available on 1954 crop flue-cured and burley tobacco at 90 per cent of parity.
