? No. 2 week at Slagle Memorial Build ing. For the summer, and until arrangements can be made to provide a center, activities for the town's young people will swing back and forth from out door activities on the high school athletic field and at East Franklin School, to Indoor rec reation tin the school cafeteria and special parties and dances at Slagle Memorial. Youth center memberships have been set at $3 and will cover all night meetings, except special events. A schedule of meetings will be announced later. H. H. Gnuse, Jr., Is chairman of the board of directors of the center. Serving with him as di rectors are Ralph L. Smith, Dr. O. R. McSween, Mrs. Lucy Bid die, and Mrs. Harve Bryant. The citizens committee for several weeks had hoped to raise enough money to build a center on West Main Street property donated by A. A. Siler. Mrs. William Katenbrink is ill at her home. No. 3 of Hopewell, Va., and Carl, of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Verna Green .May, of the home; a brother, CUng Green, of Jack son County; a sister Mrs. Samp son Parrls, of Sylva; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were J. Harry Thomas, Harve Bryant, Jack Grlbble, Ben Harrison, Lee Tip pett, and Herman Childers. Potts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. GOING TO CHAROLTTE ?Mrs. Frank L. Henry, Jr., Mrs. Nat Phillips, Mrs. E. J. Car penter, Mrs. Blanche Parrish, and Mrs. William G. Crawford plan to leave Sunday for Char lotte to attend the 50th anni versary meeting of the grand chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. They are members of the Nequassee chapter In Franklin. COWEE CAKE WALK The Rivervlew Methodist Church will hold a cake walk and box supper Saturday night, June 11 at 8 o'clock, at the Cowee School. C Lamb And Wool Pools Slated Macon farmers will sell wool and lambs through two special pools next week under the su pervision of the N. C. Depart ment of Agriculture, according to County Agent T. H. Fagg. A two-day wool pool Is slated Monday and Tuesday (June 13 14) at the Carolina Warehouse in Ashevllle. Local farmers not planning to deliver wool to the pool may leave It at the Farm ers Federation in Franklin be fore 12 noon on Monday for shipping to Ashevllle that after noon. The county agent cau tioned farmers using the latter method to have names and ad dresses on the Inside and out side of each bag. A lamb pool has been sched uled for Monday In, Clyde. In order for lambs to bring top prices, Mr. Fagg said they should weigh from 80 to 95 pounds. They must be in the stockyards at Clyde by 10 a. m. Monday. HATCHETT AT CAMP The Rev.
