This was in the early days of
telephones in Franklin. The pic
ture was made about 1905 at
the junction of West Main
Street and the Georgia Road
(Maple Street). The two lower
men on the pole are George J.
Conley (who loaned the photo)
and Will Jones. At the top, left
is Alex Myers. The fourth man
could cot be identified.
Sixteen Macon County men gave |
their lives for their country in
World War 1, and 75 in World j
War 2.
