MARIE BARNARD (Club Reporter) Project leaders and commit tee chairmen for the year were named last Thursday night by the Franklin Home Demonstra tion Club. A demonstration, "How to Do Your Banking", was given by the home agent, Mrs. Florence S. Sherrlll. Mrs. Roy Cunningham, Mrs. Frank Reece, and Mrs. Zeb Conley were named to a com mittee in charge of refresh ments for the spring dress re view on February 29 at the Iotla School in cooperation with the Iotla and Burningtown clubs. The following project leaders were named ; Mrs. Bob Car penter, Foods and Nutrition; Mrs. Woodrow Baker, Home Gardens; Miss Gladys Sellers, Food Conservation; Mrs. J. L. West, Sr., Housing and House Furnishings; Mrs. T. A. Orr, Home Management; Mrs. J. j Harry Thomas, Family Life; Mrs. Frank Reece, Home Beau tification; Mrs. Howard Barn ard, Clothing; and Mrs. Roy Cunningham, Arts and Crafts. Committee chairmen were named as follows; Mrs. Carey Patton, Healtji and Safety; Mrs. Zeb Conley, Education; Mrs. Ed Carpenter, Citizenship; Mrs. Pearl Troughton, Interna tional Relations; Mrs. EL C. SMITH | Monday will mark the begin ning of the annual United Funds Drive at Franklin School. Sponsored by the Stu dent Council, a total of $400 to $500 in student contributiohs is expected at Franklin High and Franklin Elementary. Six charitable organizations will share in the proceeds of the drive. The March of Dimes will receive 37Vi%, and the American Heart Fund, Junior Red Cross, Easter Seals, Amer ican Cancer Society, and Christ mas Seals will each receive 12%%. Last year a total of $400.84 was taken in. High school con tributions totaled $171.78; the remainder was given in the ele mentary school. A "thermometer" showing total amount of contributions each day will be posted on the bulletin board in the F. H. S. lobby. Another chart will show the progress of the different home rooms. The drive will ! probably end Friday. No organizations conduct their own fund-raising cam paigns here. Students may not ' solicit donations from others; only personal donations are per mitted. ? ? ? He will enter in the fall. CIRCUIT IS LEADER In the county, the Franklin Methodist Circuit led with 90 per cent in church school and 1 62 per cent at worship in the recent district-wide "Church I Attendance Crusade", it has : announced. Vocational and guidance ma terials have been emphasized recently by the F. H. S. library. In a special display in the library under a poster entitled "What's My Line", are arrang ed vocational guidance manuals, books, magazines, and various pamphlets. A series of posters is being posted In the lobby featuring cartoons on the subject, "The Record You are Making in High School". Two other shelves In the li brary are filled with college catalogues, life adjustment booklets, and other vocational and guidance materials. ? ? ? All of the girls at P. H. Correct standing, sitting, and walking postures were demon strated by Miss Marie DePot ter, who models for Bonwit Teller, a Chicago shop. Miss De Potter, a Belgian, now a natur alized citizen of this country, was the guest of Mrs. George Notel, of Franklin. Miss DePotter also Included some suggestions on how to be come a professional model and told the girls something about her former country. The demonstration was spon sored by the F. H.
