Unly 6 rires Un County Land Reported By Bryson On county land, only three fires were reported in the last six months of 1955, according . to Ranger J. Fred Bryson. All three were small and j 1 burned over only eight acres, ? he said. However, Mr. Bryson said this is attributed to the fine cooperation of citizens and the I efficiency of the forest fire l suppression organization in the I county. The first fire was in Septem ber in the Burningtown section. It burned 1.2 acres. In November three acres of land was burned over in the Wayah area. On Christmas Day, 3.6 acres went up in smoke on Saldeer Branch in Burningtown. Despite unseasonably dry weather in January, only two small fires broke out on coun j ty land. The ranger reported one in Harrison Cove and an other at Fouts Gap in the Iotla section.
