Coming before God with an humble and contrite heart and asking God's forgiveness i? an act that bothers some folks. Episcopalians believe it's a part of being a Christian. We believe it's important enough to go beyond the few words of confession coa tained in the Lord's Prayer. You don't agree? All right, think of it ia this way. God has given us a way of life. Our Lord said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great command ment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." If we haven't done these things ? as posi- , tive action ? we have sinned against God and man. And we need God's forgiveness. How do we get it? We ask for it. In every service in an Episcopal Church you'll find the entire congregation on its knees asking God's forgiveness and receiving from the priest the assurance that God does forgive. Private confession to your priest isn't required, but it's there, if you desire this means of grace and definite assurance of forgiveness. Why don't you join us, in the Episcopal Church? You'll find that "confession is good for the soul". Why don't you read more about the Sacraine.its of the Episcopal Church? Send the coupon for a free copy of "What are the Sacraments.'" REV. A. RUFUS MORGAN Route 1, Franklin, N. C. I'd like to learn more about the Episcopal Church. Send me my free copy of "What are the Sacraments?" Name ? Street and No ?
