( A power pole was blown down by the wind on Rabbit Creek Road and power was dis rupted in this area about an hour. Some crop damage was reported. Power was also out about an hour in a part of East Franklin, the Lake Emory Road section, and part of the Iotla section, according to Mac Whit aker, of the power company. Lightning played havoc with telephones over the county. Crews were still working Tues day to restore service to cus tomers. During the storm, a rainfall of 1.8 inches was recorded at the Franklin power plant. DISCUSS WATER In special session Monday night, the Franklin Board of Aldermen discussed the town's serious water shortage, but took no official action. Nearly dry Thursday and Fri day, the storage tanks started refilling over the week-end when officialls called for im mediate conservation and got the cooperation they asked. Digging a new well to boost j the supply was talked at the I meeting. Asbury Methodist Revival To Start _ . Revival services will begin Sunday at Asbury Methodist Church and continue through i the following Sunday morning ; service. Services are slated each \ evening at 8 o'clock during the | week. The Rev. Glenn Anderson, pastor of the church, will work with the young people during the revival. Waldroop Clan Sets Reunion At Carson The annual Waldroop reunion will be held at the Carson com munity building Sunday, Aug ust 26. A musical program has been planned for the afternoon. All members of the family are asked to come and bring a pic nic lunch. O. E. S. Supper _ To Mark Birth Date Of Founder The Nequassa Chapter. Order of the Eastern Star, will give a covered dish supper tonight i Thursday i, August 16. at 7 o'clock, at the Masonic Temple, commemorating the birthday of the founder of the Order of the Eastern "Star, Hod Morris. Macon County Masons will be 1 guests. The regular meeting of the Nequassa chapter will be at 8 o'clock, following the supper. Directors Of T. B. Directors of the new Macon County Tuberculosis Association have been appointed. They are Bob S. Sloan, Hol land McSwain, Mrs. A. A. Slier, and John Wrinn. Sam Gibson is the association president.
