MRS. CABF, 70. DIES AT HOME ON SUNDAY Funeral Services Held Monday At Asbury Church Mrs. Mamie Dale Cabe died sud denly at her hoir"> in th? Tesenfp community Sunday at 6:20 a. m. She was 70. She was a daughter of Ras and Mi s. Flora Conley Pen land, on. a Aug. 7, 1886. in Macon Count". She was the last surviving mem ber of the family. She marne. Melvin Cabe March 8. 1905, who survives. Funeral services were held Mon day at 11 a. m. at Asbury Metho dist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Glenn Ander son and the Rev. R. L. Poindexter officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Hayes Buchan an. Lem, Herschel. and Normar Cabe. Grady Hopkins, and Don Garland. Surviving in addition to the hus band are two sons. Grady, of Franklin. Route 2. and Ray. of Waynesville; two grandchildren: and a number of nieces and nephews. Maconians Invited To Enter Hams Ir Show Maconians who think they cure prize-winning hams are being of fered the chance for ribbon prizes. A ham show and sale will be held Aug. 10 at the armory in Waynesvllle. There will be two di visions, junior and sehior. The Jun ior division will be for hams own ed and exhibited by 4-H Club and F. P. A. members. Adults will be in the senior division. No entry fees will be charged and no cash awards made. The show is intended to boost a uniform type of country-cured ham as a mountain product, ac cording to the sponsors of the show, the Waynesville Chamber of Commerce. Dog Owners Are Warned I The fine for a dog owner who doesn t keep his pet shut up dur ing specified hours is $50 and Police Chief Sid Carter says he'll have to use it if folks don't start being more careful of the ordi nance.
