Mrs. B. L. Sherrill, chairman of the advisory committee which su pervises this program, presided. This program is sponsored In the county by Methodist Men groups of the churches. The Methodist rural program, which took four years to inaugu rate, began in the fall of 1955 when the Woman's Division of Christian Service assigned Miss Margaret Wilson for general or ganizational and teaching work in the 21 churches of the area. This program has involved a va riety of activities over these three years, Including work id vacation church schools throughout tSe county, work within the Metho dist Youth Fellowship program, organizational problems of the Woman's Society of Christian Service in individual churches, as sistance with choirs, teacher training, and other work. In addi tion. the program has sought to relate the local Methodist churches of the county, with the larger interests and activities of national and world Methodism Miss Wilson suggested that dur ing the next year she be allowed to concentrate her activities in the field of teacher training and the demonstration of resources and" techniques in the church school classes.
