As A Burley Man, Huggins Ranks Right At The Top As a burley tobacco grower, J. L. Hugglns Is about tops In Macon County, according to Coun ty Agent T. H. Fagg. Furthermore, from the stand point of efficiency he's probably one of the best farmers around, the agent says. "He can get more out of his little 10-acre farm than anyone I've run across lately," Mr. Fagg explained this week, following a visit to the Hugglns farm on the west end of Holly Springs com munity. Take his burley patch, for ex ample. Mr. Hugglns consistently gets 2,800 pounds to the acre. Compare this with the state aver age of only 2.000 and you can understand the county agent's comments about this farmer's efficiency. And, to take it another step, Mr. Hugglns expects to get 3,000 pounds from his present burley crop. ' "I consider this (the burley) one of the best I've seen in the county." Mr. ragg declared, in dicating the more than man-high crop. "And it already has been topped." Mr. Huggins uses 4-8-10 fertilizer with an application of about 1,000 pounds to the acre. In addition to burley. Mr. Hug gins also has a hatching egg flock. Hints To HOMEMAKERS By MISS BOTH CURRENT State Home Demonstration Agent CHICKEN IS TOPS?
