Lawrence Roper recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with open house at their home in theOak dale community. Many friends and relatives call ed during the afternoon. All eight of their children were present for the occasion. They | are Roby and Harvey Roper. Mrs. Howard Hlgdon, and Mrs. Lillie Higdon, all of Franklin, Route 3, Mrs. Harold Williamson, of Route I, Mrs. J. R. Amnions, of Frank lin. Mrs. J. D. Dayton, of Route I. and. Mrs. Edgar Reeves, of Qas tonia. Also present were their 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The couple has lived in the Oakdale community since mar riage. Mrs. Roper is the former Miss Carrie Ann Tallent, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ephram Tallent. Mr. Roper's parents were Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lafayette Roper.
