A discussion was held concerning work on the parsonage grounds. Anyone wanting to mow the lawn. or do other worjc, can help any time. However, the group has de cided to meet Friday afternoon at 5:30 to start working on the grounds. There Is much to be done before a new pastor can move Into the house. Corbin, Jr. Attending were Mr. and Mrs Dewey Corbin, Miss Mildred Corbin, Jim Williamson ; Mr. and Mrs. Orady Corbin and son. Mr. and Mrs. Don Seagle and family, C. D. Corbin and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Jaclc Keeter and i daughter. Personals Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Crawford Sunday were the Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Howard, of Wake Forest. Mr. Howard was the guest aspeaker at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Sunday morning. Miss Mildred Corbin attended graduation exercise at Brevard College Sunday night. The Rev. and Mrs. Bob Tray wick and son, Paul, of Belmont, arived Monday for a week's visit with Mrs. Traywick's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cabe. Home for the summer from N.C. State are Wayne Oregory and Wayne Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Cass and family, of Atlanta, Oa? were week end guests of Mrs. Helen Taylor. DEATH CLAMS MRS. PATTON IN GEORGIA Maconian Was 66; Services Held Here Monday Mrs. Blanche Farmer Patton, a native of this county, died Sun day at 9 a.m. in an Athens. Ga. hospital at the age of 86. A resi dent of the North Skeenah section, she was 66 and had been seriously ill for two weeks. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Claude Ledford, pastor, and the Rev. James Sanders. Burial was in the church cemetery. Daughter of John and Mrs. Mary Sanders Farmer, she was a. member of the Pleasant Hill church. Surviving are a son, Lester Put ton. of Route 2; four brothei-s. j George, John, and Jim Farmer, of i Routo 2, and Charlie Fanner, of Commerce, Ga.: two sisters, Mrs. Lexie Ledfoid, of Route 2, and I Mrs. Hettie Cowart. of Commerce; ! and three grandchildren. * Pallbearers were Glenn, Ted, j and Randall Farmer, Frank Led ford, Ralph Cowart, and Bud Mc : Connell.. SUCCUMBS Services Are Held Saturday Afternoon At Pleasant Hill Mrs. Flora Cabe Sanders, 89, ; died at the home of her daughter, I Mrs. Prank Carpenter, In the i North Skeenah section, Thursday i 'May 28) at 10:45 a.m. after an illness of several months. She was the daughter of the late George and Sally Clidewell Cabe, was a native and lifelong resident of Macon County, and was married Dec. 27, 1888, to J. Columbus Sanders, who died in 1950. Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. James I. Vinson, the Rev. Robert Thad Dowdle, and the Rev. Claude Led lord officiated. Burial followed In the church cemetery. She is survived by two daugh ters, Mrs. Robert Carpenter, and Mrs. Frank Carpenter, both of Route 2; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jess. Roy, Har ley. and B. T. Sanders. Odell Girl Scout Troop To Have Program For W.S.C.S. Meet | Mrs. Henry Cabe's Girl Scout troop will have charge of the pro gram for the June 11 general meeting of the V/a.CS. of the Franklin Methodist Church. The meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Mrs. H. Bueck. president, will preside. The Girl Scout troop is sponsored by the Bradley, and George Cabe.
