Billy Higdon has plowed it twice and sprayed it. The com munity has entered the Lord's Acre project in the Parmer's Fed eration Lord's Acre contest in this area. A prize of $100 is being offered by the Farmer's Federation for the project that has the high est yield over 100 bushels per acre. Elect Officers Sunday, officers and teachers j were elected at Sugarfork Baptist Church for the Sunday school and church. Howard Teem was re elected church clerk; Marie Jennings, church treasurer: Her man Teem, Sunday school super intendent; Harold Crisp, secretary i of Sunday school; Mrs, C. T. Bry- 1 son. pianist; Mi's. Ann Price, song leader; and all the teachers and J assistant teachers in the Sunday school were reelected. H. D. Meets Higdonville Home Demonstra- 1 tion Club held an all-day craft meeting last Thursday with 10 1 present. The group made copper planters and wastepaper baskets. They enjoyed a covered dish lunch. Mrs. Florence S. Sherrill was in charge of the demonstra tions. Jimmy cele- \ brated his third birthday, which was June 18, and Johnny his j second birthday, which will be j July 1. Guests were Charles Berry, Gary and Kathy Duvall. Karen Moore. Diane Duvall, Janice, Carol and Annette Thompson, Terry Duvall. and Dale Duvall; the children's grandmother, Mrs. Wayne Duvall, and several of the children's aunts. The children played and en joyed eating birthday cake, cookies, and lemonade served by Mrs. Teem. The honorees received many gifts. ? ' 'i Youth Camp ? A district-wide youth camp is being conducted this week by the Assemblies of God Church at the camp ground in Cullasaja com munity. Services begin each morn ing at 10. Among those helping in the camp are the Rev. Clark, of Rock Hill, S. C., and the Rev. R. E. Stephenson, of the Culla saja Assembly of God Church. The revival camp meeting will begin Sunday night at the camp ground. Personals Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Landrum and Mr. and Mrs. Claude F. Herring, of Daytona Beach, Fla., are spending two weeks at the Landrum homeplace in Cullasaja community. Tommy Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Addms, of Higdonville. has returned home after visiting relatives in Belmont. Mary Seay recently spent a week with her grandmother, Mrs. Mary B. Johnson, in Asheville. Enroute home, after spending several days in Anderson, S. C? with his mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Ervin and two children, of Dunlap. 111., came by here last week to see Mrs. Ervin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred N. Crisp, and Mrs. Ervin's sister, Miss Wilma Jean Crisp. Miss Crisp accom panied them home for a few days' visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Coggins and three children, of Flint, Mich., spent last week here visiting Mr. Coggins' sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Higdon, in Hig donville community; his mother, Mrs. Alex Coggins, of Route 1 : and his other sisters In the county. Mr. and Mrs. Blair Price and daughter, Judy Carol, spent from Friday until Monday in Gastoma with Mr. Price's mother, Mrs. Clara Price, who is ill, and also visited other relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor moved Tuesday from the Gibson cottages to the Ferguson house in Holly Springs community. Mrs. Ben Gibson entered Angel Hospital Friday for medical at tention and returned to her home Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Saunders, of Aiken, S. C? brought their daughter. Debby, up Wednesday for a visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Moses. T/Sgt. and Mrs. Carter A. Cable and sons. Charles and Pat. of Kirkland Air Force Base, Albu querque, N. Bowers' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bowers. Boyd Holland and his children escaped without injury when they were involved in an automobile accident near Wilburn Taylor s house Monday morning. The Hol land car overturned in the high way. There was no other vehicle involved. . Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Berry and j children attended a birthday party for Mrs. Berry's mother, Mrs. Sallie Moore, given by Mrs. Moore's children Sunday at the Patton community building. Mrs. Moore was 87 years old June 19. All of her children were present, except one. Mrs. Frank McDowell entered Angel Clinic Saturday for treat ment. Her son. J. O. McDowell, and Mrs. McDowell and their two ! sons, of Pontiac, Mich., arrived j Monday to see her. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Holland and two children have moved to Marietta.
