Shook, Macon Native And War Vet, Dies At 53 County native and veteran of World War II. died from a heart attack Wednesday. November 25. in Pontiac, Mich., where he had worked for General Motors for eight years. Funeral services were conducted at the Sugarfork Baptist Church here the afternoon of the 28th by the Rev. R. D. Burnette and the Rev. C. T. Taylor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Members of V.F.W. Post 7339 were pallbearers. Born May 3. 1908, Mr. Shook was the son of the late Robert and Mrs. Emma Belle Stanfield Shook. He enlisted in the U. S. *rmy Jan. 20. 1942, and served as i field linesman in the India and Burma campaign, receiving his discharge Oct. 1. 1945. Mr Shook also worked five years with Nanto hala Power and Light Company. Surviving are three brothers, Luwson and Troy Shook, both of Franklin, and Howard Shook, of Lakeland. N. J.; three sisters, Mr*. Frank Peek, of Franklin, Route 5.
