Asbury Services1 Held For Farmer And Native James Harvey Cabe, 79, of the Middle Creek Community, died at his home January 29 at 12:45 a.m. after a lingering illness, Te son of the late George N and Mrs. Julie Bradley Cabe, he was born in this county. In 1906 Mr. Cabe was married to Miss Arie Bethel. A carpenter and farmer, he was a member of Asbury Meth odist Church. Funeral services were held the morning of January 30 at Asbury Methodist Church. The Rev. Earl Crowe officiated. Pallbearers were Billie Bradley, Prott McClure. David McClure, John McKowell. and Herschell Cabe. Burial was in the church cemetery. HANEY Rites For Jackson Native Held At Aquone Church Mrs. Jane Haney, 72, of Frank- 1 lin. Route 3, died at the home of i Lester Crawford at 4:30 p.m. on! January 29 after an illness of three weeks. The daughter of the late Andrew and Mrs. Rebecca Raby Cope, Mrs. Haney was born in Jackson County. She was married to Frank Haney, of Franklin. December 14, 1906. Mr. Haney died in Decem ber, 1957. Mrs. Haney was a mem ber of the Aquone Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at Aquone Baptist Church the after noon of January il.' The Rev. Frank Monteith officiated. Stewart Takes Part In Airborne Alert In Kentucky FORT CAMPBELL, KY.? Army Sgt. Charles R. Stewart, son of Mrs. Clara Stewart, of Franklin, participated with the 101st Air borne Division's 502nd Infantry in a special STRAC (Strategic Army Command) alert January 15-29. The 101st Airborne Division, a major STRAC unit, constantly maintains an immediate readiness force' for airborne deployment to any area in the world. The 25-year-old soldier, a fire team leader in Company D of the division's 502nd Infantry at the fort, entered the Army in March 1955 and was last stationed in Germany.
