AT DAUGHTER'S HOME ? Death Claims R. J. Roper, Macon Farmer, Feb. 19 Funeral services for Raleigh J. Roper. 71. of Franklin. Route 3 (Burnlngtown community) were held February 21 at the Mount' Slani Assembly of God Church. Burial was in the Tlppett ceme tery. Mr. Roper died February 19 at the home of a daughter. Mrs. Troy Swafford, following a linger ing illness. Born January 10. 1889. he the son of Charlie R. and Delia Rowland Roper, of Macon Coun ty. He was married to the late Catherine Dills, of Nantahala, June 24. 1911. Mrs. Roper died March 18. 1957. Officiating ministers at the funeral Sunday were the Revs. Roy Moore and Jack Cruse. Active pallbearers were grand sons of Mr. Roper, James Swaf ford, Lee Swafford, Harold Mor gan, Dillard Morgan, David Orant, and Hubert Morgan. Survivors include two sons, Howard Roper, of Franklin, Route 3, and Calvin Roper, of Monti cello, Ga : eight daughters, Mrs. Troy Swafford. Mrs. Harley Vin son, of Franklin. Route 3. Mrs. Arthur Morgan, of High Point, Mrs. Jessie Orant, of Almond, Mrs. Orover Mason, of Boling broke, Ga? and Mrs. Thomas Marshall, of Lithonla, Ga.; three brothers, Ernest and Austin Roper, of Monticelk>, Ga.; and ' Charles Roper, of Columbia. S. C.; four sisters, Mrs. Charlie Bate man, Mrs. Wiley Pendergrass and Mrs. Texie Reeves, of Franklin. Route 3, and Mrs. Olenn Wiliam son. of Monticello. Ga.; 53 grand children; and 14 great-grandchil dren. Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Swan's Mother Dies In Mass. Mrs. John Swan received word last week of the death of her mother, Mrs. W. E. Rodgers, Sun day, February 14, in Leominster, Mass. Mrs. Rodgers and her husband, the late Rev. Walter E. Rodgers. were retired missionaries from the Belgian Congo, Africa.
