th eprogram for the Iotla Parent
Teacher Association meeting Mon
day night. Mrs. Joe Taylor, vice
president, was in charge of the
business session. Training children
was the topic of the devotional
given by Mrs. Marlin Combs. The
treasurer's report was given by
Mrs. Charles Swafford, stating a
balance of $48.83.
Members of the group voted to
send a cash donation to the
American Cancer Society.
On behalf of the school, Alex
Arnold, principal, expressed ap
preciation to the P.-TA. for the
blackout curtains for the school
auditorium.

Miss June Baldwin, bride-elect
of Paul Sorrells, was honored with
a miscellaneous shower Friday
night at the home of Mrs. Verfll
Meadows. Other hostesses In ad
dition to Mrs. M??dow? were Mrs.
Claude Roper. Mrs. Lois Jacobs,
and Miss Gghrude Clampitt.
About 35 persons attended the

Mrs. BUI Sorrells and Mrs. Wayne

Graduation Set
Eighth grade graduation for
the Iotla Elementary School will
be held Tuesday, May 31, at 8
p.m. In the school auditorium.
Twenty-four students are sched
uled to receive diplomas.
Pastor Coming
Moving into the Iotla Baptist
pastorium next week will be the
Rev. and Mrs. Carl Poston and
family. The Postons are formerly
of Wake Forest. Mr. Poston is the
newly-elected pastor of the Iotla
Baptist Church.
Day Observed
"4-H Church Sunday" was ob
served Sunday morning at the
Iotla Baptist Church. The pro
gram, "Life Dares Youth to Live",
was given by 4-H members. Taking
part were Annette Swafford. group
captain. Emma Lee Evans, Brenda
Stewart, Wanda Willis, and Vickie
Penland.

Gets Grant
At Pfeiffer
Miss Nancy Sutton, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Sutton, of
Clark's Chapel community, has
been awarded a president's schol
arship at Pfeiffer College.
She is one of 20 students select
ed to receive $4,300 in Pfeiffer
awards for the next college year.

1. Sometimes I'm hot, sometimes I'm cold
I can see the voting along with the old.
2. Where I sit 1 can see a lot of people, but they don't see me.
3. I know Saturdays are busy days, but I may be found an
other day.
4. If I'm not found before Winter, I may get lonesome.
5. Today a new week begins, I wonder if some new ones will
be coming in.

7. The hunt has been going a week for me, why don't they
look near a tree?.
8. I am on West side of river . . . the hill is .steep and 1 am
afraid to peep.
9. I was still as a mouse and one certain bov put his hand
on my house.
10. I feel safer hid here than out in the lot.
11. From here I have a wonderful view ... If you were at the
post office you could see it too.
12. From where I am hid I can see a large smoke stack.
13. If I could eat, my hiding place is near a hamburger.
