P ERSON AJLiS Mr. and Mrs.. J. M. Tyson were vis itors in Carthage Slinday. Hr. W. D. Matthews was a visitor in Cameron Sunday afternoon. Mr. John Keith was home from Davidson college for the week end. 3Iiss Ethel Coats spent Easter at her home in Coats. Mr. James Steed, of Troy, was in Vass last Monday on business. Mayor W .H. McNeill of Carthage, paid the Pilot office a very pleasant visit on publication day. Mr. R. A. Bryan, of Carthage, paid Vass a business call on Wednesday of this week. Mr. Otis Brandon, of Wake Forest college, spent the week end here wih friends. Mrs. John M. Ray, of Vass Route 1, was in Vass shopping one day last week. Mr. J. D. Blue spent part of the Easter holidays in Raleigh with friends. Mr. Dtincan Blue, of Greensboro spent Friday last visiting friends and relatives in and around Vass. Mr. M. C. McLaurin, of Cameron, was in Vass on Thursday last on business. Dr. M. L. Matthews and family of Sanford were with friends in Vass last Sunday. Mr. C. B. Ruth, representing the H. S. Storr Co., of Raleigh was here on business Tuesday. Mr. Neil M. McKeithen spent the Easter holidays with his parents at Raeford. Miss Lena Body,of Rocky Mount, spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. Geo. Thompson. Miss Clyde Fisher of St. Paul’s spent the Easter holidays with Miss 3Iargaret Keith. Messrs. Elvey and Hampton Thom as have been on a visit to home folks here. Several of the townspeople attendr ed the play given at the Farm Life School Friday evening. Miss Mildred Thomas very delight fully entertained the young folks at her home on Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Willie John Cameron of Jonesboro spent Monday in town visiting relatives. Master Joe Bundy and sister Gladys, spent Easter with their sis ter, Mrs. A. G. Edwards. Mr. J. . Hicks of Raleigh spent Easter at home with his parents near town. Little Miss Josie Lynn Thompson spent Monday night at the home of her uncle, Mr. George Thompson. Mr. Neill McLean was in Charlotte Sunday, visiting Mr. Daniel Smith, Sr., who we are sorry to say con tinues quite ill. Miss Annnie Pierce and Nonnie Norman of Cameron were the guests of Miss Annie McGill the first of this week. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Irvin and Mrs. Georgia Matthews, of Cameron,spent last Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Hen ry A. Matthews. Mr. Bill Thompson, was with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Thomp son, at Troy, during the Easter holi days. Prof. J. A. Campbell, principal of the Buies Creek Academy, was a pleasant caller at the Pilot office last Saturday. Miss Rosa Churchill, Mr. E. C. Churchill and little daugher, Elsie, were the Easter guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Gunter. Misses Maria and Vivian Matthews spent Easter Monday at the home of their uncle, Mr. Julian 0. Matthews, of Sanford. ^ Mr. A. C. Smth, Vass Route 2,with several friends was in Sanford last Saturday on business. Saturday. Mrs. Walter B. Graham, who under went an operation for appendicitis at the Charlotte Sanitorium several weeks ago returned to her home here last Saturday. Mr. John McMillan, who has been spending sometime with his cousin, Mr. N. A. McMillan, left for Durham Wednesday to visit his sister, after which he will return to his home in Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Taylor had as their guessts for the Easter holidays, Friday until Tuesday afternoon, from Meredith college, Raleigh, Misses Sarah and Mildred Taylor, neices of Mr. Taylor, and Miss Mary Lily Blalock cousin of Mrs. Taylor. These charming young ladies made many friends while here and our young people aided greatly in making their visit a most delightful one. With parties, and driving, and visiting the time passed very quickly and many regrets were expressed that they could not remain longer. We are all hoping to have their visit repeated in the near future. The crowded conditions of our ad vertising columns compels tis to leave out a lot of important news.
