UNION COUNTY’S BIG VOTE (Monroe Inquirer) In 1920 the six counties composing the 13th Judicial District cast 18,864 votes for Morrison for Governor. This is an off year and not so many votes will be cast this year in the primary. Union county can cast more than half that number of votes if our Demo crats will turn out and vote. Union has more than 10,000 white voters in it, and nearly all of them are Demo crats. In 1920 the census gave Ca barrus county a population of 33,- 730 and in the same year that county cast 9,620 votes in the general elec tion. The census gave Davidson coun ty 35,201 people and in the same year it cast 10,751 votes. The same cen sus gave Union county 36,029 people. Why should Union county not have 11.000 voters? There are not over 1.000 Republicans in the county and we believe that Union has 10,000 Democrats in it. If our Democrats register and vote there can be no earthly chance of defeating Stack for Judge. Let every Democrat in the county see that his or her name is on the registration book—and then vote. (Political Adv.) NIAGARA Miss Mildred and Mabel Smith spent a day in Sanford the past week. Mr. B. C. Morga and Mrs. J. V. Snipes and children motored to Chat ham county, Sunday, and visited rela tives. Mrs. Jane Morgan and little Mary Olive Morgan, who have spent the past two months visiting in the vicini ty of Chapel Hill, have now returned to their home at this place. Mr. George R. McDermott and w’^ife spent a part of the day Monday in Lakeview. Miss Anna Marston who has spent the past season here and has num bered her friends by her acquaintances left the past week for a tour through Chicago and will also visit friends in Jameson, Wisconsin, and thence across to her home in Varwood, Mass. What we need in this country is people who will call fewer strikes and more bluffs. We’ve always noticed that there’s no contempt worse than the contempt of a middle-aged man for the young ster who thinks he understands wo men. for SALE—By Wiggins Drug Store, Byrd’s Headache Remedy.
