So green and soft and furry. I wonder if they slept last night. They seem in such a hurry To get ahead of everything, In spite of windy weather; And hear those robins, how they sing, So glad to be together. And talk about the summertime, And plan about the making Of nests, where cats and boys can’t climb, It’s quite an undertaking; And I don’t wonder they should meet, To talk the matter over. But where they sleep and what they eat, With not a leaf of clover. Or bit of fruit, or any grain. To me it’s very funny; I’d wait for softer winds and rain. And weather warm and sunny.” “Why John,” laughed little Bessie, then, “How very queer you’re talking. Why don’t you fly, now, surely when You ought, instead of walking? Those robins, up there, in the sun, Us two, are closely eyeing, And wondering why we walk or run Instead of gaily flying. And Pussy-willow pities us. Our feet all dressed in leather. And heads all wrapped, with such a fuss About a little weather. The water-cups down at their feet, Dark red, green and yellow. Are laughing at us—hear their sweet Low gurgle, soft and mellow; They like to wet their shiny throats And let the water dimple Against their pretty satin coats. And think us very simple. It’s just like this, don’t you suppose, With birds, and trees, and flowers, Their lives and thoughts, nobody knows Much more than they know ours. But don’t you wish, we really might Make them feel half so bonny. When spring-time comes, so glad and bright As they make us feel, Johnny?” LAKEVIEW NEWS Mrs. P. L. Gardner and son. I i will not increase prices until May 1st Firestone Pric^ on Fabric and Cord Passenger Car Tires and Tubes, also Solid and Pneumatic Truck Tires Will Advance May 1st I The postponement of this price revision is possible only because of our realization of the price danger in the British Crude Rubber Restriction Act which became e£Fective November 1, 1922. We were fortunate in our rubber purchases before the Restriction Act increased the price of crude rubber 150%. We have always endeavored to cham pion the cause of better made tires de livered at lowest cost to the tire user by economic manufacturing and distribu tion. And we are glad of the opportun ity to give the car-owner the additional saving at this time. Firestone Cords embody certmn special processes which result in their producing mileage records, hp-etofore imheard-of in the industry. Among the more im portant ji these superior methods arf) blending, tempering, air-bag cure and double gum-dipping. Firestone Dealers are co-operating with us in our movement to supply your needs at present prices as long as their stock lasts and we have advised our dealers that we will supply them' with additional tires this month only so fat as our output will permit. See the nearest Firestone Dealer^ Purchase a set of these Ghim-Dipped’ Cords. Prove for yourself their re markable mileage advantages and easy riding qualities.
