The hostesses, assisted by Misses Lucile Loving and Lula Rogers, serv ed deliciolis pink and green cream with pink and white cakes. After some guitar selections by Mr. J. F. Sanders and some informal singing the merry party broke up. Members of the 8th and 9th grades accompanied the base ball team to Southern Pines Tuesday afternoon. Their presence evidently inspired the team, for they won the game 19 to 3, continually rolling up the score until the game was called off at the end of the sixth inning on account of the late hour. The whole party enjoyed a picnic supper at Lakeview on the way home. We are also glad to re port that the team defeated Farm Life 11 to 3 Monday afternoon on the home court. On Wednesday afternoon Miss Ald ridge delightfully entertained the 5th grade with a picnic. Many games and contests were enjoyed, after which a delicious lunch was spread under a large hickory tree, following a course of strawberry ice cream and cake. Those who enjoyed the feast were:— Jessie McFayden, Ruth and Myrtle Marion, Annie Mae Gilchrist, Carrie Martin, Jocie Simpson, Tresa Badgett, Sarah Spivey, Jetty Key, Joe Irvin, Floyd Hancock, Charlie Elliot, Law rence Badgett, Everett Blakley, Ed ward Jones, Woodroe Basley and Ber nice Phillips.
