Miss Lula, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Boaz at tended the funeral of James Hinson at Rockingham. Miss Flora McLeod, of Hemp, who has been visiting her niece, Mrs. Mil ton Thomas, left last week for Car thage to visit her sister, Mrs. Gilbert McLeod. The play, “The Wren,” was well patronized on Friday evening; over $60 was realized. This sum is to help pay for a lovely new curtain which the Woman’s Club has secured for the stage and the school auditorium. The Woman^s Club met last week in the school auditorium with 20 pres ent. A committee was appointed to draw up the by-laws and constitution, Mrs. Lula Muse, Mrs. J. E. Snow and Miss Mamie Arnold. This committee is to present the by-laws and consti tution at the next meetng to be voted on by the members of the club. The committee on membership appointed were Mxs. A. M. Snipes, Mrs. Stanley Graham and Miss Annie McFayden. The treasurer reports that the $300 assumed by the club has been paid by the club, leaving $100 to be paid by the school. Next meeting in March wil be the annual election of officers and payment of dues. The committee from Cameron who attended health and welfare meeting at Eureka Tuesday are Mrs. J. E. Snow, chairman, Mrs. J. D. McLean, Mrs. J. M. Guthrie, Mrs. Jewel Hemp hill. Delegates who attended the Young People’s conference at Pinehurst Sun day were Mrs. J. L. McGraw, Mrs. Jewel Hemphill, Miss Ruth Wooten, Jack Phillips, Alton Cole. Visitors, Misses Katharine and Mary McDon ald. The Sandhills Sixteen, with Mrs. Giles at the piano, made the Welkin ring in the school auditorium Monday evening. Every one a good singer, everyone a good looker. Songs, classic, spiritual, folk songs, negro songs, Scotch songs. I have not been so thrilled since I heard the Scotch Highlanders at the Sandhill Fair. NOTICE OF LAND SALE.
