Friday, Nc Fagr® Two ARCHERY SCORES AT GREENSBORO. (Continued From Page One.) son, second place, was Phillip Roun- sevelle, of Pinehurst, with third. The most remarkable event of the entire tournament was the shooting done by the juniors under 16. The average scores by these boys were high. Shooting for the juniors was under the auspices of the Junior Ar chery Association, a national organi zation, and four of them, Stephen A. Douglas V, of Greensboro; Robert Hubbard, of High Point; R. D. Doug las, Jr., of Greensboro, and Billie Ed- gerton, of Greensboro, all received gold medals, for their high scores. Last year at the mid-winter tour nament in Pinehurst, less than a doz en archers participated, four of whom came from the North. The fact that 26 archers from the Carolinas par ticipated in the State championship FHE PILOT tournament is evidence of the rapid growth in popularity of this noble and ancient sport. Archery clubs are being formed at Sedgefield, Gastonia, Pinehurst and other cities in the State and all arch ers are invited to communicate with Phillip Rounsevelle, secretary of the I Carolina Archers, at Pinehurst, for I full details about joining the State j organization.
