One of the most delightful social events of the year was the birth day party and contirmation celebration of Marshall G. Ginsburg on his 13th birth day at their home Sunday. The home wa=r most tastefully dec orated with candles and other deco rations appropriate to the occasion. During the dinner Marshal grave an address, the subject was “Love Thy Xei^^hor As Thy Self,’^ which was very ably delivered. A most delic ious coursed dinner was served at 12:30. Those attending the party from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Robinson and son. Julian, of Hamlet; Mr. and Mrs. A1 Gold, of New York, and their son. T^oiiis; Messrs. Harry Teush, Leonard Sacks and Jack Snyder, of! Chapel Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Sutky and I son. of Greensboro; Mr. Flersher, of | Greensboro; Mr. and Mrs. Myers, Mr. j and Mr>. Rechter and two sons and ^ daughter, of Mt. Gilead; Mr. and Mrs. J. Polaaka\i;z and two daughters, Toba and Lena, of Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Moskevtz and daughter and Mrs. Moskevtz, of Richmond, Va.; Mr. Luff, of Glendon; Mrs. Ben Hurwitz, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hurwitz, Misses Rosa and Susa Hurwitz, Mrs. Ida Hurwitz and daughters, Mrs. Ruth McLeod and sons, Arch, Curtis and Charles, and Judge George H. Hum ber. After the gifts were admired and appreciation for them expressed, a de licious iced course was served by the hostess. Death of Mrs. Cox. Mrs, Ed Cox, of Greensboro, who has been quite ill for many weeks, died at her old home here, Bethlehem, and wa= buried there Tuesday after noon. Mrs. Cox leaves several chil dren and many relatives to miss her and rejiTpt her going. Death of J. Tj. Hall. J. Ti. Hall, who quite ill for many months hospital at Win- ston-Salem. and in October was tak en from the hospital to his sister’s, Mrs. Bennett, of Spartar. After leav ing the hospital, Mr. Hall seemed to be fretting: along nicely, but for the past few weeks he has grown much worse, and died Saturday afternoon at 2:1^0. Mr. Hall died from rheumatism. The body was brought here to Car thage for burial, interment was made in the Fry burial place. Services were Have \our Eyes Examined bv Expert. Cost is No More conducted by Dr. Jackson, the Bap tist minister. Mr. Hall is surViVed by his wife and one son, his mother and several brothers and sisters. Whole Time Heahh Officer. We are very glad to announce that we have with us Dr. E. Symington, full-time health officer for Moore county, elected at a recent meeting of the Board of Health of Moore coun ty. Dr. Symington comes to us well recommended. He has been stationed for many years in India in the goY- einment health work. Dr. Symington is now living in Pinebluff but will move to Carthage as soon as he can conveniently do so. We will be glad to welcome hi mand his family to Carthage. Dr. Buie Conducting Clinic. Dr. Buie, of the State Board of Health, is conducting a dental clinic for Moore county schools. Dr. Buie will be in Carthage at a very early date. All children will be del.ghted I am sure. MI'S Gladys Watson has been spending some time in Asheboro. Mrs. Jim Morgan is quite ill at her home near Carthage. Her son Rufus Morgan and his Wife are with her. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Pleasants, of Aberdeen, visited relatives in Carth age Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Tyson and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Tyson, of Vass, vis ited John McLeod Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. Caldwell, of Aber- (ieen, visited Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Mc- Keithan Sunday. Mrs. B. C. Wallace visited Mrs. Henry Kobprts at Sanford Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. 0. Bell spent the week end in Carthage wth friencs. M *ss Annie Reid Yow spent the week end at home. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Swanger, of Southern Pines, were in Carthage Monday. John McCoy Blue and Mitchel Epstien, of Raeford, were in Carthage Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Blue. Friends of Mrs. Minnie Tyson will ; be glad to leam that she is much im- [ proved after a slight illness of sev eral days. Claud Stutts, of Richmond, spent Sunday in Carthage. Mrs. W. R. Clegg and Miss Au gusta McKeithen were in Sanford Fri day. Mrs. C. L. Levitt and daughters, Gean and Laura, were in Sanford shopping last week. Claud Tyson, of Raleigh, is visit ing his friends and relatives in Car thage for a rew c;ays. Rev. William Currie spent several days in Carthage last week. ! Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
