By E. H. Garrison
Exhibits for the County Fair this
fall will be much more numerous and
of a wider variety than last year and
from all indications now these exhibits
will come from every part of the
county. There will be exhibits of reg
istered cattle from Pinebluff, Pine-
hurst, Eureka, Cameron, Deep River
and Carthage.
Mr. Ragsdale of Pinehurst has also
promised us to put on an exhibit of
some of his excellent Berkshire hogs
from the Pinehurst farms on Little
River. We are also expecting an ex
hibit of pigs, belonging to some of the
4-H Club members at Cameron.
In the line of farm crops there will
be exhibits of all kinds and varieties
of Lespedeza from the farm of Dr.
Street at Glendon, Mr. Willcox of the
Horseshoe and from the farms of D.
A. Dunlap and W. C. Gamer in the
Hemp section of the county. There will
be an exhibit of some Perennial les-
I pedeza from the Pinehurst Farms and
i an exhibit of Grohoma from the same
farms. These latter two are new
j plants in this section and so far as I
I know have never been grown here
j before. There will be exhibits of all
j kinds of farm products from all sec-
I tions of the county. These will con-
i sist of all kinds. Several varieties of
I corn from Cameron, from Carthage,
' McConnell and the Spies section of the
I county.
Mr. Mayfield has promised us a
I real poultry show this year, he being
I in charge of this particular part of
i the fair. There will be exhibits of all
I the leading breeds of birds and tur-
' keys in the county this year.
J. E. Collins of Cameron, R. E.
Bryant of the White Hill Commun-
: ity and Walter McCaskill of Eureka
have promised to get up some first
class exhibits of tobacco. All of these
, men are experienced tobacco growers
and I am sure that they will have
j something of interest this time.
I There will be a booth showing what
! is being done at the County Home this
year and the crops which have been
I raised there this time.
The above mentioned are just a few
; of the things which will be put on.
There are also a great many other
folks who have not been mentioned
bringing in good exhibits of farm and
garden products this year. E. C. Math-
eson of Eagle Springs is putting on

an exhibit of cotton and George Ross
of Jackson Springs has promised to
bring over part of his herd of Here
ford cattle.
Our exhibit tent has been increased
to twice the size that we had last
year and I am thinking that anyone
who misses this fair this year is go
ing to miss a real treat in things of
interest from the farms.
SCHOOL EXHIBITS
The school children and teachers of
the county are looking forward to
the Moore county fair with a great
deal of pleasure, and practically all
j of the schools now in operation are
i preparing exhibits representing work
: done in the schools. Cameron, Eureka,
Pinehurst, West End and Carthage
' school officials have already requested
' space for exhibits of various kinds,
and indications are that the schools
will play an even bigger part in the
j success of the fair this year than they
! did last.
Wednesday the 15th is school day,
and all school children and teac?iers
will be admitted to the fair grounds
free. It is hoped that a large number
will avail themselves of this oppor
tunity of attending.
Those who plan to carry school ex
hibits to the fair should do so on
Monday afternoon and if the schools
wish to keep these exhibits, they
should remove them on Friday.
