Mrs. Buchan re ceived many gifts, including a beau tiful birthday cake. Mrs. John Murpliy entertained her bridge club Wednesday evening. Mrs. L. L. Daniels won high score. Mem bers of the club present were Mrs. Daniels, Mr.s. Barrett Harris, Mrs. Russell Loren.son, Mrs. Parsley, Miss Eileen Loomis. Mi.ss Iris Tate and Miss Betty Bradley. Mr, and Mrs. George C. Moore en- Dr. Jamie Dickie has returned from Asheville where he .spent the week- ' end. Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Hoag of Garden City, N. Y., have taken one of the Case apartments on Ashe street for the season. Mrs. R. F. Potts is leaving Friday by motor for an extended visit to Florida.
