Two colored brothers, Pete and
Earl Crutchfield, had an altercation
Saturday afternoon and after the
fight was over Pete was left with a
badly shattered elbow, caused by a
lick from a Coco-Cola bottle, and
was carried to the Moore County Hos
pital.
"Aunt” Lou Harrington, a worthy
and industrious colored woman, who
owned a neat, comfortable house on
the Raeford Road, a mile from town,
had the misfortune to lose her hou.<!e
by fire Saturday morning. Fortunate
ly she .saved most of her furniture.

Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Gibson had
their new brick bungalow severely
damaged by fire last Thursday. A
defective flue was supposed to have
been the cause. The damage was
about $2,000,000. fully covered by in
surance. Mrs. Gibson, nee Bonnie
Muse, is the daughter of Mrs. Janie
Muse of Cameron.
Their many friends will regret to
learn of the serious illness of the in
fant son of Prof. and Mrs. E. S. Tem
ple of Rutherford College. The child
is in a hospital in Hickory, where be ’
underwent an operation some dayn
ago. Prof. and Mrs. Temple taught in
the Cameron school for flve years,
and have the sympathy of the towns*
people.
