Funeral Services For
Mrs. Grinnell’s Father

Temple, father of Mrs. Roy Grinnell

1866, and passed his 71st birthday

Although Mr. Temple had long
since passed the age when most men
seek retirement and relaxation from
the cares and responsibilities of an
active and successful life, his bound,
less energy and vigorous mind re.

Mr. Temple was an eminently sue-
cessful man. His judgment was
£ound and his advice was sought on
many matters by many m«n. He was
at one time president of the Bank of
Lake View' and at the time of his
death was one of the receivers of
the bank. He organized and was
president of the Lake View Deposi.

the college. She is now a senior.

Mrs. Grier Hostess
Mrs. Charles T. Grier entertained a
number of her friends on Thursday
afternoon. Bridge was played at six
tables. High score prize was won by
Mrs. U. L. Spence, visitor’s prize
went to Mrs. Eldon Adams and out.

“Howling Success”
The Womanless Wedding sponsored
by the Parent.Teacher Association
on Tuesday evening was a howling
success. The auditorium was full of
fun-loving people who thoroughly en
joyed the wedding. The proceeds will
be used for the school lunch fund.

John H. Butler, aged 77 years, died
in his home at Iowa avenue and
Leak street, Southern Pines last
