Misa Margaret McKenzie sang “Trees,” and Miss Bess Arnold 'Ullman sang “Second Minuet in G.” They were ac companied by Miss Annie Marie Choate. Much interest has been shown in the equipping of a library in the elementary building which will be ready for use soon with 400 new volumes. This program was planned and presented by Mrs. T. P. Cheney. During the business session Mrs. Karl Johnson reported $125.00 prof it from the benefit supper held by McKenzie home. Miss Jane Vaughn Gillett and Mrs. Helen Barns Von Schrenk, who spent the summer in Northport Point, Mich., have returned to Casa Blanca cottage for the season. Miss Margaret Wells accompanied them and will remain for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Fownes, Jr., of Oakmont, Pa., returned Friday to their home in Knollwood. Mrs. Louise Fownes Blue went to New York for a ffew days stay and was joined by her parents and accompanied them here Mrs. Howard Hotchkiss and the Misses Carol and Anabel Hotchkiss motored to Washington, D. Larson, technician of the Path- ometic Laboratories in Chicago, will be in Southern Pines conducting a clinic. Special cases are to be exam ined. A part of the week will then be open to the public for examina tion of chronic or interesting cases, persons who have never had a sat isfactory diagnosis by other means. Dr. Larson, representative for the internationally knowm research lab oratory, was in Southern Pines re cently arranging for this clinic to be held in the office of Dr. Thomas Walker, who has charge of the local arrangements.
