Miss Eloise Summerford present ed Louise McVicker, Betty Dunlop, Beverly Lyon, Flvelyn Black Georgia Faircloth, Maxine Kennedy, Virginia Currie and Elizabeth Ann Frye in a papeant, “As Told By Candles," and as each girl lighted her candle she told of some phase of the P.T.A. w'ork. After this the past presidents of the local organizations gathered around a talbe centered with a white fake bearing 42 red candles and while Mrs. Leonard Tufts_ first president lighted the candles she made a few- appropriate rurMrks giving much credit to the success of this organi zation to Supt. \V. P. Morton, who was it's guiding light for 14 years. MVs. Johnson presented each past president with a corsage. Those ser. ving' the organization in years gone by were Mrs. Leonard Tufts, Mrs. A, P. Thompson, Mrs. I. C. Sledge, Mrs. Murdock McLeod, Mrs. James Quale the late Mrs. Gordon Camer. on, Mrs. Hulon Cole, Mrs. H. A. Campbell, Mrs. Tnie P. Cheney, and Mrs. W. R. Johnson.
