Mrs. Norman Day returned home recently from Moore County Hospi tal where she was a patient for three weeks. Mrs. Day is still in bed and under the care of a trained nurse. After spending several days as the guest of Mr. atid Mrs. Harry Lewis, Miss Clara Rowe of Bethlehem, N. H., left last Thursday for Charles ton, S. C., where she joined friends and continued her trip to Florida. Mr. and Mr-s. George E. Lewis ot Bryantville, Mass., are the guests of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lewis for several weeks. Robert Dutton is confined to Moore County Hospital where he re cently underwent an appendectoftiy. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zachary and son Merrill moved to Norfolk, Va., this past week. Stephen Bush, son of Dr'. E. W. Bush, fell from a tree and sustained a broken right arm. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Geddie of Florence, S. C., announce the arriv al of a boy on Wednesday, March 5th. Mrs. Geddie was the former Miss Katie Lee Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T T. Ward. Mrs. W. M. Hutt entertained at a biidge-tea at the Southern PineS Country Club honoring her house guest, Mrs. Frank Cox of Ellenville, N. Dr. and Mrs. Charles Paul Stevick announce the birth of a daughter, Linda Lynette, at Highsmith Hospital, Fayetteville, on Sunday, March 9th. Mrs. Stevick was the former Natalie Lynette Wheeler. Miss Elinor Valentine spent the week-end visiting friends at the Inn in Chapel Hill. Mr. and Mrs. William S Innes of Providence, R. I., arrived last Satur day and will be the guests of Mr. anti Mrs. Almet Jenks until after the steeplechase races. Mrs. Marie Hunter arrived recent ly from San Francisco, Cal., and will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. ■A.rch Coleman for a week. Miss Elinor Valentine will leave to- da.y for Columbia, S. C-, where she will spend the week-end. Frank Kaylor, Jr., of Raleigh spent Tuesday in town before going to Dunn where he will be stationed with the construction department of the Carolina Power and Light Company for the next ten days or two weeks. Mrs. E, Levis Prizer and Mrs. Hoyt Shaw were joint hostesses at a Pan cake breakfast held at the home of Mrs. Prizer on Shrove Tuesday at 12:00 noon. Twenty guests enjoyed the breakfast after which an inter esting program was enjoyed. After a short story by Mrs. Shaw two I'eci- tations were given by Mrs. Prizer. Mrs. Carl Thompson did the Cabbage Dance whch was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Mrs. Thomas McGraw of Cherokee Farms read in her usual charming manner, from “The White Cliffs of Dover" and from “My Name Is Aram."
