A turkey dinner was served to 50 soldiers from the Knollwood Sub-Air Base Monday night. Mrs. Tod Baxter, Mrs. Wade Stevick and Mrs. Henry Dorn were in charge of the dinner for the Club. Dancing was enjoyed la ter in the evening. Mrs. Ernest Victor Hughes is lec turing at the Civic Club at 3:00 o’clock Friday afternoon. December 5. Lord, youthful radio broadcaster, whose portrayal of the lid New Englander, “Seth Parker” brought him radio fame, is vacation ing at Knollwood, acompanied by Mrs. Lord. Among radio programs which Mr. Lord has produced and made famous are “Uncle Eben David,” “Gang Bus ters,” “We. the People,” and “Mr. District Attorney.” Mrs. Edward Organe of Durham joined Mr. and Mrs. Lord for a visit. Cheatham of Pinehurst that Mr. Page was assign ed to the county for two full days, and the pictures have done much to ac quaint the children with the work ings of tuberculosis and methods of combatting it, and to inspire them to make this year’s seal sale the best yet. Capt. and Mrs. George Schoolcraft have taken up residence at the New England Hou.se, corner of Bennett street and New York avenue. Mrs. John A. Smith, who has been visiting Mrs. T. A.
