R. Page, for benefit 1 of the Barium Springs Orphanage, brought out 49 members and guests to hear Joseph B. Johnston, superin ■ tendent of the orphanage, speak of 1 the achievements of some of the or phanage graduates, and the work at the institution. Physical well-being, proper educa tion. developing self-reliance, cour age, and proper attitudes were de scribed as the most important ob jectives of an orphanage. Mr. John ston said that the problems were the same in every institution of its kind. Saying that over 100 graduates of ; the orphanage were now serving in the armed fbrces, Mr. Johnston de clared a task of training the young er ones, now growing up was just I as important, for they must be ready j for the "job of the peace and to re establish order out of the terrible | condition the world is in today." Dr. T. A. Cheatham spoke briefly of the tuberculosis seal sale cam j paign and the club voted $lO to the county association.
