The little folks wearing white caps and gowns, gave a very entertaining program. Members of the class were Kathie Ellis, Stanley Hil dreth, Judy Owen, Tony Whit ney, Mary Ann Carter, Edward Partridge, Nat Kingsbury, Mike Pierce, Bradley Johnson, and Do reen Narelle. Yadkin Golf Club Appointed to serve on the membership committee of the Yadkin Golf Club are Roderick Innes, Chairman and R. D. Mc Leod, Mrs. L. B. Creath, Bill Woodward, Thomas L. Black, H. F. Seawell, Jr., H. Frederick Lesh and J. Frank McCaskill. The Handicap and Tournament committee is composed of the fol lowing: True Cheney, Howard G. Phillips, Miss Ruth McEnery, Henson Maples, Karl Andrews, Halbert J. Blue and Francis T. Keating. The first tournament, a blind bogey event, is being played this week. Personals Mrs. Robert Barrett honored her little daughter at a birthday party last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank McCas kill entertained at bridge Mon day evening and again at three tables Wednesday evening. Jimmy Nicolls who has been employed at the Country Club in the golf shop again this season will leave about June 15th for Belgrade Lakes, Me., where he will serve as golf professional. Capt. Donald Currie has been transferred to Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Hulon Cole and son, Richard attended the gradu ation exercises at the Assembly Training School in Richmond, Va. Miss Helen Ruth Cole was member of the graduating class. u^ugmer mi She accompanied them home for Robert McKenzie and family be a two weeks visit before going to Florida where she has accepted a position. Lewis Johnson left last Friday for Brookline, Mass., to spend the summer. Mrs. Johnson and son, Bradley will join him at an early date. Dr. and Mrs. William C. Mud- gett have departed for New Or leans where Dr. Mudgett will study. Later he will take a year’s research course at the Mayo Clin ic. Vacationing at Ocean Drive, S. C,. for a few days are Mrs. Byron U. Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peck and Miss Teeny Lewis. Join ing them for the weekend were Misses Emaline and Paulina Lewis, Horace Currie and Edgar Currie and Mr. Richardson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Chapman have left for their summer home in Greenwich. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Keating left last week for Rye Beach, N. H. for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Nelson re ceived word from their son, Don ald that he is on his way home from the Pacific. Mrs. Millcill Varner of Vista, California spent last week as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Karl An drews at the Chalfonte. Baker who was a guest at Casa Yucca for the win ter has gone to Asheville for the summer. John R. Bowker has returned from Hot Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Barrett and family will leave soon for Linville where Mr. Barrett will be golf professional for the sum mer season. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Aborn have returned to their home on Long Island. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Fownes, Jr. have gone to Washington for a visit with their daughter, Mrs. fore going'to their home in Oak- mont, Pa. Ray Hensley has been discharg ed from the navy and has re turned to the home of his pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hens ley, Linden road. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Dunlop and Barbara Ann were weekend guests of Mrs. Edith Quale. Mrs. Lucien Tyson of Carthage was Sunday guest of Mr. and, Mrs. Herman A. Campbell. Mrs. Eva M. Cohant spent a few days last week with Mrs. A. J. McKelway in Charlotte. James Nicolls and George Car ney spent Monday in Greensboro. Ensign Katherine Sledge of Washington, D. C. spent the weekend at home.
