Frye, West End. 7,589 Vacancies for Reserve, National Guard Officers Reserve and national guard of ficers now on inactive status or terminal leave are offered an op portunity to return to active duty, according to war depart ment information just received by the U. S. Army Recruiting Station- in Rockingham. 7,589 vacancies exist for re serve .and national guard officers who desire to volunteer for an unlimited length of time or for 12, 18, or 24 months periods. Officers desiring to volunteer for return to active duty may secure application forms and de tailed information at any army installation. The army head quarters serving reserve and na tional guard officers in the North Carolina military district is lo cated in the Raleigh Building in Raleigh or at U. S.’ Army Recruit ing Sub-Station, Post Office Building, Rockingham, N. C. Court of Honor To Be Held On September 9 All the Scout Troops in Moore County will convene at West End on September 9th for the first County-wide Court of Honor of the new Scouting Year. This meeting was planned several months ago, and the various Troops have been working to ward this event all through the vacation months. A large atten dance is expected. Troop 74 of Robbins will pm. on a demonstration depicting some phase of our Scouting ac tivities. Troop 98 of West End will put on the opening and clos ing ceremonies. Mr. 1. C. Sladge Admancement Chairman for Moore County, will preside at the Court. The public is cordially invited to attend. The Court will be held at the schoolhouse in West End at 8:00 p. m.
