Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Campbell announce the marriage of their daughter, Magdalene, to Le Roy Hudson in Bennettsville, S. C. on Friday, Dec. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Hudson have an apartment in,the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Cal- iahan. A picture “Highland Heritage” ill be shown at the Vass Pres byterian church on Sunday eve ning. January 8, at 6:30. The pub lic is invited. Miss Margaret. Hennings, daughter of J. W. Hennings and the late Millie W. Hennings of Carthage, route 3, and Billie Smith Jessup, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Jessup of Vass, were united in marriage in a private ceremony performed by Henry Rodgers, justice of peace, of Ben nettsville, S. C. on December 30 at 6 o’clock. The bride were a light blue dress with black acces sories. Mrs. Jessup is a graduate of Vass-Lakeview High School and is employed by Robbins Mills of Aberdeen. Mr. Jessup served with the navy for 3 years and attended Vass-Lakeview High school. He is now farming near Vass. Mr. and Mrs. Jessup are making their home with his mother, Mrs. L. S. Jessup. Mrs. G. M. McDermott, teacher, entertained the primary class of the Vass Presbyterian Sunday school at her home on Saturday afternoon. Games and contests were enjoyed. Bonnie Jean Hicks won the award for the- best note book kept on Sunday School work and also for the memory work learned in class. Refreshments were served to the pupils present. J. S. Bullock of Attubury Sound, Alaska, visited his sister- in-law, Mrs. O. M. Bullock last week, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Waddell and children, Carolyn and Billy, of Zephyrhills, Fla., were week end guests of her mother, Mrs. W. T. Cox. Mr. and Mrs. Waddell and son, Billy, left Monday night for Richmond Hill, Ga';, where Mr. Waddell has been transferred. Carclyn remained for a longer visit with her grandmother and entered school here the first of ihe week. On Sunday Bonnie Jean Hicks received a bar to add to her, pin for five years of perfect atten dance at the Vass Presbyterian Sunday school. The Vass Woman’s club will meet on Friday evening, January 13, at 7:30 with Mrs. C. L. Tyson. ritis. Mrs. W. C.
