Caus ey and Miss Lessie McNeill as co- hostesses. Three visitors, Mrs. L. L. Woolley, Mrs. Joe Thomas and Miss Bishop, and 11 members were present. Mrs. George Hein- itsh conducted the Bible study and Mrs. Dan Ray gave the Sur vey article. Circle 5 met Tuesday morning wjth Mrs. Claude Reams, with Mrs. Paul McCain leading the Bi ble study. Eight members and one visitor, Mrs. Joe Thomas, were present. Total attendance for the six Circles for June was 72. Pioneers Attend Camp At White Lake Nine members of the Pioneer Fellowship of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian church are spend ing from Monday until Saturday of this week attending Pioneer camp at Camp Chicagami, ’White Lake. In the group are Shirley Thwing, Barbara Goodwin, Doro thy Newton, Catherine Anne Dwight, Joe McDonald, Claud Reams, Julian Pleasants, David McCallum and John Ray. Accompanying the girls and boys to White Lake were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Goodwin, Mr. and Mrs. James Pelasants, and son Rodney, Miss Grace Thwing, and daughter Eileen, Mrs. Ray McDonald, Mrs. Robert Smith and Mrs. D. S. Ray. Page Memorial Methodist church was the scene of the’wed ding on June 8 of Miss Martha Louise Guion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Lloyd Guion of Ab- erdeen, and David Lawrence Mer edith, son of Dr. and Mrs. Clern- ent O. Meredith of Guilford Col lege. The Rev. T. J. Whitehead, pas tor of the church, heard the vows exchanged before a background of fern, white gladioli and lighted tapers. Mrs. E. L. Pleasants, or ganist, and W. P. -Whitlock, vocal ist, both of Aberdeen, presented wedding music. The bride was given in marri age by her father. She wore a ffown of white slipper satin with lace yoke and panel of lace ex- tending down the front of the skirt. She carried a white Testa ment topped with an orchid. Miss Gaynelle Gwyn of Aber deen, maid of honor, wore a yel low marquisette dress and carried a bouquet of talisman roses. Bridesmaids were Misses Anne Pleasants, Joyce McLean, Sue Swaringen of Aberdeen, and Nan cy Baum Funderbufke of Greens boro. Mc- Keithen were hosts at a delightful picnic at Watson’s Lake Wednes day evening of l&st week, honor- white gladioli and feverfew. Four ivy-twined candelabra holding white tapers completed the altar setting. Miss Elizabeth Wood, pianist, of Newton, and Raymond Shaw, vo calist, of Sanford, aunt and cousin of the bride, presented a program 1 of wedding music. Mr. Shaw sang “Because,” and, as a benediction, “The Lord’s Prayer.’ The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white lace brid al gown. Her gauntlets were of matching lace, as was the tiara from which her shoulder-length veil fell. She carried a colonial bouquet of baby pink rosebuds and white bridal flowers, centered with a gardenia and showered with white satin ribbon and min iature pink rosebuds. Miss Edith Ring of Vass was maid of honor. She wore a green sheer dress with lace yoke and carried a lace-covered basket fill ed with mixed flowers in pastel shades. ■Bridesmaids were Miss Eliza beth Ann Chappell and Miss Jo anne Chappell, of Vass.
