Gospel messages are broadcast
from a new radio station at Tan
gier, North Afric^, under the man
agement of International Evan
gelism, Inc., of which Evangelist
Paul Freed of Greensboro is presi
dent. The evangelist’s wife is the
former Betty Jane Seawell,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. F.
Seawell, Jr., of Carthage.
The station, for which the
Freeds have long labored, is mak
ing broadcasts directed by the
evengelist’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Freed who have over 20
years of experience in the mission
field in Palestine and who are
new living in Tangier.
The messages are broadcast in
English, Spanish and French. Let
ters acknowledging the broad
casts have been received from the
Canary Islands, Denmark, Swe
den, Belgium, Scotland, Ireland,
Holland, Germany, Spain and
Portugal.

Mrs. Duke's Mother
Passes In Newark
Mrs. M. Duke of Maine Avenue
received news Wednesday morn
ing that her mother, Mrs. Cath
erine Patterson of Newark, N. J.,
had been found dead in bed that
morning. Mrs. Patterson had suf
fered from a heart condition, but
apparently passed quietly in her
sleep. Mrs. Duke had held a tele
phone conversation with her only
the day before.
The Duke family left Wednes
day for Newark to attend funeral
services.
