Fields of Newport News, Va., announce the birth of twin sons, in a hospital in Newport News. Their names are Jeffrey David and Jonathan Daniel. Mrs. Fields is the former Miss Vivian McNeill of Carthage; Personals John Wise, assistant county agent in Laurens, S. C., spent the last week here with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Garriso^n, en route from the University of Tennessee, where he had been studying for the past three months for his master’s degree. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Frye spent the weekend in Sumter, S. C., with Mrs. Frye’s twin sister, Mrs. A. M. Davis, and Mr. Davis. Mrs. Roger McClune and little son of Levittown, Pa., are visit ing her mother, Mrs. J. W. Baker. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Riley and family spent the weekend at Car olina Beach. Buddy Baker, after completing his freshman year at the Univer sity of North Carolina, left last week to join the Navy and will be stationed at San Diego, Calif., for boot training. Blanton Jones of Clayton and Frank Wiggs of Smithfield, school mates of Max Way at High Point College, were luncheon guests of Mr. Way Friday. They were en route to Robbins where on Satur day night Mr. Wiggs and Miss Audrey Stutts were united in marriage in the Methodist Church. Miss Frances Ann Clegg, who underwent an operation for ap pendicitis 10 days ago in Moore County Hospital, returned home Saturday. Major and Mrs. J. D. Pendleton Frye,- who is also studying at the Toccoa Bible School. Mrs. Margaret Penn returned home Wednesday from a two weeks’ visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Wallace, and children in Shreve port, La. Mr. and Mrs. Swain Stevenson, who have been visiting in the home of Mrs. Stevenson’s parents. Solicitor and Mrs. M. G. Boyette, left Sunday for their home in Hal ifax. Traynham of Roanoke Rapids visited Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Brown and attended the gradua tion exercises of the Carthage High School, of which Miss Bar bara Brown was a member. Mr. and Mrs. James B. Muse had as their guests for the week end her brothet Max Harrell and three children and Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan and sons of Winston- Salem. Misses Rose Miller and Becky Wallace spent last weekend in Chapel Hill and attended the pledge banquet and dance of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity at the Washington Duke Hotel in Dur ham.
